An interview with Caroline, person-centred counsellor

We feel very honoured to have Caroline Channon join the counselling team at the Therapy Rooms. Caroline brings a wealth of experience in her work as a person-centred counsellor.

How did you become a counsellor?

I have always had an interest in psychology and after beginning to study this I soon realised that counselling was my passion.

What do you enjoy about your work?

I enjoy working creatively integrating different theories into my practice with clients, because every person is a unique individual who need different things, to be able to grow in the way that enables them to lead a full and happy life.

Who comes to see you for counselling?

I see a variety of clients dealing with depression, anxiety, bereavement, relationship difficulties, low self esteem, cancer, or stress.

What happens during a typical session?

I provide a safe, non-judgmental and private environment for each person to explore their thoughts, feelings and emotions.

What are your five top health and well being tips?

*    Self care

 *    Spending quality time with family and friends

*    Mindfulness

*    Yoga

*    Self compassion

What’s next for you?

I would like to do some further studies in Transactional Analysis and to continue to develop and grow in my practice.
